This will be my 11th year teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. This is my second year teaching Pre-K. I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in Elementary Education. I live in Livermore with my husband and daughters Brooke (3 years old) and Eleanor (brand-new!). We have one cat, Tiger, and three chickens. We love to read, be outside, and spend time at our friend’s dairy farm.
My name is Mrs. Pettengill and I live in Lewiston with my husband, our two daughters Emma & Elliot, and our son Silas. We enjoy spending time together riding bikes, going to the beach, and being with our two dogs Chloe and Bronk.
I attended Saint Joseph’s College and majored in Elementary Education. In the past I have worked with children starting at infancy through school age in various settings. I absolutely loved spending the past two years at Acadia working with Pre-K students and I am so excited for this new school year!
I am a 2008 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, certified teacher birth-age 5 and K-3 grade. I have been teaching pre-k at Acadia since we opened in 2016. I have previously worked with infants/ toddlers and taught pre-k at Educare in Waterville. Directly before coming to Acadia, I was working at The Margaret Murphy Center for Children as a BHP for children with Autism.
As a teacher, I believe that communication and collaboration is key. I want to work along with you, as the parent, you know your child best and together we can help them to be successful. I truly believe the mission of Acadia to foster independence within our students. Not only do we have a strong academic program but we also have a heavy focus on the social/ emotional learning. Helping a child to grow as a whole will equip them with tools that they can use their whole life.
This is my third year teaching PreK. I live in Durham and have one adorable snuggly cat named Indy. One of my favorite author’s is Peter H. Reynolds. I love original pieces of art, crocheting, learning about octopuses, drinking tea and sunny but cool days.
This is my third year teaching PreK at ACADIA. I live in Lewiston and have three children named Genevieve, Corbin, and Colette. I have many favorite authors but I especially love Jan Brett. I love going to camp, watching my children grow, and all things autumn.
